Celine SS25: Hedi Slimane’s Ode to a French Summer
Shot in a French château, Hedi Slimane’s summer collection merges ’60s nostalgia with modern elegance.

The recipe for un Hedi Slimane été français (a French summer) includes: one Celine typewriter, one château in Compiègne France, one record (specifically, ‘Femme Fatale’ by the Velvet Underground) and a slew of heavy ’60s bangs. What more could one want?
To launch the ‘Un Été Français’, Celine’s Women’s Summer 2025 collection, the brand released a runway show video, shot beautifully by Slimane in the north east of Paris. Inspired by a rereading of French icon Françoise Sagan’s book La Chamade, and set to the background lull of The Velvet Underground, the clothing expertly evokes a ‘60s heroine.
While the micro cuts of last season flow through with A-line mini skirts and baby doll dresses, summer 2025 sees the return of longer styles including cashmere pleated school skirts and cigarette trousers.
Blending ’60s nostalgia and modern sophistication, Slimane offers a timeless vision of an effortless French summer.
