JW Anderson Spring 2025: Stripped Back for Maximum Impact
Jonathan Anderson shifted the spotlight from accessories to bold, architectural silhouettes at his London Fashion Week show.

‘Shut Down’ by Massano, a high-energy, melodic-yet-dark techno track, shocked guests awake on Sunday morning at the JW Anderson’s Spring 2025 show, signalling something bold was on its way. The collection that followed was a clear stripping back for a brand renowned for its accessories, allowing the focus to land on the structural elements of the clothing.
Modern takes on femininity flowed through extreme skater skirts, jutting out as if replicating ballerina tutus, as well as balloon puff mini dresses and sequin shifts.
Focusing on craftsmanship, the pieces were amplified by shrinking or oversizing classical shapes. Sweater dresses were distorted, jackets oversized with chunky belts and knit dresses bore gigantic crosshatched woven fronts.
Using only four fabrics throughout the collection, Jonathan Anderson made a case for a new type of capsule wardrobe, one with only the necessities: cashmere, leather, silk and sequins.
