Few composers have made as profound an impact on modern classical music as Max Richter. Renowned for albums like Sleep – an eight-hour work exploring the science of sleep which is the most-streamed classical album of all time – and The Blue Notebooks, a poignant meditation written in opposition to the Iraq War, Richter’s compositions reach listeners far beyond the concert halls where they’re performed.
