Face Time With Rianne Van Rompaey

For a decade, Rianne Van Rompaey was one of the most recognizable faces in fashion. Then, last year, she stepped away from modeling altogether to pursue her first love: acting. “I realized it was time to say goodbye,” she says in Mastermind 20. “It felt like a breakup because the fashion industry has given me so much. I gave a lot to it, too. I gave my twenties, in a way, to the industry, but I don’t regret it at all.” 

In a rare exception, Van Rompaey returned to set for Mastermind’s 10-year anniversary, shot by photographer – and longtime friend – Colin Dodgson. After they wrapped, Van Rompaey and Dodgson stepped into a room to record a conversation which covered cats, canal swimming, Y tu mamá también, Paris, multiple identities, returning to set after 18 months away and whether or not she’s in love.
